Writing a Breakout Novel Workbook by Donald Maass
My library is often under the weight of books about writing again. But I was constantly trying to improve my work, so when the opportunity to join a group that plans to work through "Breakout Novel Workbook" I jumped at the chance to write, I've had.
Donald Maass, author, is president and founder of the Donald Maass Literary Agency. She teaches writing workshops and has written novels under a pseudonym. In addition, the workbook, wrote: "Career and writer"Writing the novel Breakout.
The Blurb says workbook builds on the success of their leader, "writes breakout novel." I was afraid I might lose, because I started the book on them. Not so. I was told that the workbook that contains the same arguments and has the advantage of exercises at the end of each chapter. I am one of those people who find it difficult to learn just reading. Writing and doing exercises to drive the point home for me. SoIn my case, the workbook is the ideal starting point. I think it is useful to themselves.
The book is divided into three parts.
Part 1: Character Development
Part 2: Land Development
Part 3: General Story Techniques
Each section is further divided into chapters, with discussions, excerpts of published works and practical exercises. There is also an excellent section in the back of his novel, making the track and brainstorming. If yourThe story is complete, or the development of proposals in this book will help you to deepen your character, increase tension and much more. Will not help you a really good novel to write.
